About Emily

A therapeutic practice shaped by decades of patient care.

Emily’s background gives this practice a calm, medically informed foundation without turning massage into diagnosis or medical treatment.

Emily Bray is a retired family medicine physician and licensed massage therapist (LMBT 22905). During her medical career, she served urban, remote rural, and semi-rural communities across Eastern North Carolina as a family physician, clinician, and medical educator.
Her work included house calls, deliveries, clinic and hospital care, hospice, and advanced qualifications in geriatric medicine. Although she no longer diagnoses or prescribes, that lifetime of experience can help her guide clients toward appropriate current medical resources when needed.
During her transition to retirement, Emily attended Craven Community College and became a licensed massage therapist. She now works part-time by appointment, and in select cases may make home visits to people who are homebound by serious medical conditions.
“A Gentler Touch” describes the reputation Emily earned over nearly thirty years as a clinical teacher at East Carolina University. Her touch can be gentle and respectful while still being precise, focused, and therapeutic for tense muscle and restricted fascia.
